Perio Protect Trays

Historically, advanced gum disease has been treated almost exclusively with surgery. Unfortunately, surgery removes gum tissue, which leads to tooth sensitivity. And surgery often invites bacteria back into the newly created wounds as they heal. And while surgery is not always avoidable, there is another way. Although surgery is sometimes necessary, Perfect Smile Dental Arts always frames a treatment plan in terms that are least invasive to effectively remedy the condition and for this reason, we refrain from surgery whenever a less invasive procedure will do the job.

For all these reasons, we are excited to offer patented trays from Perio Protect deliver bacteria-fighting peroxide deep into the pockets of the gums to kill the source of infection. The fact that these trays are non-invasive means the treatment is both effective and repeatable. In fact, it’s likely effective because it’s repeatable. And vice versa.

Perio Protect is doctor-prescribed and patient-applied. When you receive your custom Perio Trays®, our dental team will show you how to place a small amount of prescription special hydrogen peroxide gel in each tray. You wear it for just minutes each day. We will also design a treatment plan specifically for you, as the duration and frequency varies for each patient.

The trays are designed with a patented seal to place and hold medication where it is most effective at the site of infection deep below the gum line. A low concentration of hydrogen peroxide gently and thoroughly cleanses the periodontal pockets, combatting bacteria, whitening your teeth and freshening your breath. These are some awesome perks that come with using the tray: fresh breath and whiter teeth!

For some patients, the non-invasive Perio Trays® reduce the need for surgical intervention. For others, it can be a potent compliment to traditional treatment methods, helping to ensure a more successful outcome.

While there is cure for gum disease, it can be managed with daily treatment to prevent pathogenic bacteria from recolonizing. When the desired results have been achieved, your dentist will revise your treatment plan to maintain the results.

The Perio Protect Method is an appealing, minimally invasive option for advanced periodontitis and early stage gum disease.
